R. Hoyle told the Board the current franchise ends on August 16, <br />1996 and the company has 120 days to act on an assignment to assets request. The cable <br />company has agreed to upgrade equipment within 24 months of the franchise renewal <br />date, with plans to upgrade capacity from 42 to 78 channels, and deploy fiber-optic cable <br />to its service area within 12 months of the franchise renewal. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to extend Charter Communications' cable television. <br />franchise until October 2, 1996. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Commissioner Moretz <br />moved to adjourn the meeting.
