0012 <br />FNK 16 ~!nr 598 <br />The Board considered a rezoning request from Mark Lyczkowski, acting as agent <br />for Mr. Alex Autry, to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Residential <br />Restricted District 62.17 acres of land on the south side of Hwy. 42 East, Broadway <br />Road. This matter was heard during a joint public hearing with the Planning Board on <br />March 18, 1996 and tabled at the April 1, 1996 Board of Commissioners meeting. <br />Planner Glen Moore told the Board the Planning Board voted to deny the rezoning <br />petition. After some discussion Commissioner Cox moved to accept the recommendation <br />of the Planning Board. The motion died for lack of a second. After further discussion <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to deny the Planning Board's recommendation. <br />Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: Cox <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />The Board considered a grant award for HAVEN of Lee County Inc. Director <br />Sherry Owensby asked the Board to approve this grant from the Governor's Crime <br />Commission in the amount of $29,593.00. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve a <br />grant award in the amount of $29,593.00 from the Governor's Crime Commission as <br />presented. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered rules for the public hearings to be held later in the evening. <br />Chairman Garner asked the Board to consider a time limit for individuals speaking. After <br />some discussion Commissioner Moretz moved to approve rules for the public hearing as <br />presented and discussed. Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a legal contract the Department of Social Services has for <br />Child Support (IV-D) services. After some discussion Commissioner Moretz moved to <br />give Attorney Steve Watkins thirty (30) days notice and reconsider the matter. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion. After still further discussion Commissioner <br />Groce moved to table the matter for discussion at the next work session on September 9, <br />10 <br />
