iseor; 16 ; r:~ 562 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Moore told the Board the Planning Board recommended denial of the petition by <br />Danny Thomas to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial <br />District a one acre portion of land located at 7215 Center Church Road. Commissioner <br />Groce moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning Board. Commissioner <br />Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />At this time the Board heard comments from Mr. James McPherson, District <br />Manager of Carolina Power & Light. He thanked Lee County for working with Carolina <br />Power & Light during Hurricane Fran. Commissioner Reives moved that a resolution in <br />honor of Carolina Power & Light, Central Electric Membership Corporation, Alltel and <br />the Department of Transportation be drawn and presented for their excellent work during <br />the storm. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered bids for new carpet at the Suzanne Reeves Library. Public <br />Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board he had received bids from the following: <br />BASE ALTERNATE <br />Southern Carpet & Interiors of <br />Fayetteville, <br />Aberdeen, NC $34,950.00 $ 36,400.00 <br />Southern Carpet & Interiors <br />Sanford, NC $46,922.00 $54,172.00 <br />J.B. Short Flooring <br />Southern Pines, NC $37,413.55 $42,412.69 <br />Mr. Cole told the Board $36,000 has been budgeted in the FY 1996/97 budget for this <br />project. Library Trustee Chairperson Cornelia Olive talked to the Board about this matter <br />and asked them to consider this project. After some discussion Commissioner Reives <br />moved to approve the bid from Southern Carpet & Interiors of Fayetteville, Aberdeen, <br />0040 4 <br />9 <br />
