Commissioner <br />Groce moved to approve the recommendation of the Planning Board. Commissioner <br />Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />At this time the Board heard comments from Mr. James McPherson, District <br />Manager of Carolina Power & Light. He thanked Lee County for working with Carolina <br />Power & Light during Hurricane Fran. Commissioner Reives moved that a resolution in <br />honor of Carolina Power & Light, Central Electric Membership Corporation, Alltel and <br />the Department of Transportation be drawn and presented for their excellent work during <br />the storm. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered bids for new carpet at the Suzanne Reeves Library. Short Flooring <br />Southern Pines, NC $37,413.55 $42,412.69 <br />Mr. Cole told the Board $36,000 has been budgeted in the FY 1996/97 budget for this <br />project. Library Trustee Chairperson Cornelia Olive talked to the Board about this matter <br />and asked them to consider this project.
