33 <br />Aye: Groce, Matthews, Moretz, and Reives <br />Nay: Cox, Dossenbach and Garner <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a four to three vote. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to approve the agenda as printed, with the above additions. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />State Representative Don Davis was recognized by the Board and asked if there <br />was any way he could facilitate a $150,000 grant recently approved by the state for a new <br />forestry service building. He promised to see what he could do to have the grant <br />restrictions reduced or removed from the funding agreement. <br />The Board considered a resolution imposing a monthly 911 charge. County <br />Manager William Cowan told the Board at the July 22, 1996 regular meeting the Board <br />approved a resolution calling for a public hearing on an ordinance imposing a monthly 911 <br />charge. A public hearing was held on August 19, 1996, with no one speaking for or <br />against this charge. The Board will now need to approve a resolution imposing a monthly <br />911 charge of $1.00 per month upon each exchange access facility subscribed to by <br />telephone subscribers in Lee County. After some discussion Commissioner Cox moved to <br />approve the following: <br />ORDINANCE <br />IMPOSING AMONTHLY 911 CHARGE <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE <br />COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: There is hereby imposed a monthly 911 charge of $ 1.00 upon each <br />exchange access facility subscribed to by telephone subscribers who's exchange access <br />lines are in Lee County, North Carolina. <br />SECTION 2: This Ordinance and the imposition and collection of the changes as <br />provided in the Ordinance shall become effective 120 days following the date of the <br />adoption of this ordinance. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />2 <br />
