0008 <br />bM 16 v)Au 628 <br />meeting, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part <br />hereof. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews and Reives <br />Nay: Groce and Moretz <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to two vote. <br />Discussion continued on the Broadway renovation line item of the budget ordinance which <br />called for $250,000. Mr. Wrenn told the Board this amount is needed to purchase ten <br />(10) new module units to be used while the school is being renovated. The units will be <br />sold after renovation is completed and the proceeds will be put back into the budget. <br />After some discussion Commissioner Reives moved to release the $250,000 frozen earlier <br />in the meeting for the Broadway renovations. Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution concerning a new forestry building in Lee <br />County. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the following: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners that the <br />$150,000 allocated by the General Assembly for a forestry building in Lee County is <br />hereby accepted; however, upon the following terms: <br />(1) That the County of Lee can and will build a metal building on <br />the present site for at or less than $150,000; <br />(2) But the County of Lee cannot build a building constrained by <br />the red tape contained in this Act; <br />(3) If the red tape is removed the County of Lee can proceed with <br />and build a building for the Forestry Service. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion. After further discussion Chairman Garner <br />formed a committee of himself and Commissioners' Cox and Moretz to meet and discuss <br />the matter in more detail. Commissioner Moretz withdrew his motion until after the <br />committee meets. No action was taken on the matter. <br />The Board heard a report from Public Works Director Kenny Cole concerning <br />sign-ups for the Phase I water project. Mr. Cole told the Board his department has <br />8 <br />
