0 0006 <br />BooK H PrE 626 <br />NC State University to cover the cost of the software package. He further stated the <br />Board was being asked to commit to 10% of the cost of the total system budgeted at <br />$17,000, of which will be taken from the COLTS fund balance account, with the <br />remaining 90% reimbursed through federal and state grant funds by the Department of <br />Transportation. After some discussion Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the <br />two purchase orders and commitment of the County to proceed with the installation <br />process as presented. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the use of the building located at 309 West Main Street <br />which currently houses the Jonesboro Library. Commissioner Moretz stated he thinks the <br />property is not being properly utilized and thinks it should be sold. Library Director Mike <br />Matochik went over with the Board what is currently housed at the branch library in <br />Jonesboro and stated the Library Board of Trustees feels this library should be kept open. <br />After further discussion Commissioner Reives moved to leave the library site as it <br />currently is for the present. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews and Reives <br />Nay: Moretz <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />The Board considered recreational uses of property located at Weatherspoon <br />Street and Horner Boulevard. Commissioner Moretz told the Board he had received <br />several offers to purchase this property if it were rezoned. Mr. Tommy Mann, Sr. and Dr. <br />Lynn Sadler asked the Board not to sell the property for commercial use but rather give it <br />to the Lee County Arts Council to be used for additional parking space when the building <br />is renovated. After some discussion Commissioner Dossenbach moved to leave the <br />property as it currently is. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />6 <br />
