BOOK 16 PacE 661 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR WORK SESSION <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 14, 1996 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />J of North Carolina, convened at 7:30 a.m. in the Gordon A. Wicker Community <br />Conference Room at the Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, <br />North Carolina. Commissioners' present were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; <br />F. Hubert Garner; Van R. Groce; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz and Robert T. <br />Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered approval of the minutes of the September 9, 1996 regular <br />work session. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the minutes as the official <br />record of said meeting. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. Commissioner Moretz asked the <br />Board to delete discussion of the merger of the County and City Inspections Departments <br />until the City Manager could be present. Commissioner Cox moved to approve the <br />agenda as printed, with the above deletion. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a rezoning petition by Sandra Koon Plyer. This item was <br />heard at a public hearing on August 19, 1996 and tabled at the October 7, 1996 regular <br />meeting. Ms. Sandra Koon Plyer asked the Board why this item had been tabled and <br />
