® <br />aoox 16 vnsf 638 0006 <br />its unconditional acceptance of this franchise and promise to comply with and abide by all <br />of its provisions, terms and conditions, and said acceptance to be in writing and in the <br />form and executed in the manner as provided in this franchise. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews and Moretz <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered resolutions of appreciation to the Lee County Boys 13-14 <br />All-Star teams, Lee County Girls 11-12 All-Star teams, Lee County Girls 13-15 All-Star <br />teams, Emergency Services Director Warren Lee, Emergency Medical Service employees <br />and the Lee County Volunteer Rescue Squad. Commissioner Cox moved to approve <br />resolutions of appreciation to the above. Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews and Moretz <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution designating applicant's agent. Emergency <br />Services Director Warren Lee asked the Board to approve a resolution which The Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires such public entity that applied for <br />federal disaster assistance to designate an individual as the official representative of the <br />public entity. County Manager William Cowan and himself have been named incumbents <br />on behalf of Lee County. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the resolution <br />designating applicant's agent as presented. Commissioner Groce seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews and Moretz <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the placement of additional signs below the "Welcome to <br />Lee County" signs currently located in nine areas of the county. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach asked the Board to consider the placement of "Home of the 1996 State 4A <br />Baseball Champions" signs directly below the "Welcome to Lee County" signs. The City <br />of Sanford has agreed to make the signs for a total of $39.00 per sign (total of $351.00), if <br />the County will buy the signs and material and place the signs on the appropriate areas. <br />Mr. Larry Thomas, President of the Sanford Booster's Club spoke briefly to the Board <br />6 <br />
