0005 <br />HOK 16 list 637 <br />be provided with the telephone number of non-emergency and convalescent providers in <br />Lee County. <br />Section VII. American Medical Response, Inc. shall continuously maintain <br />liability insurance on both its employees and ambulances in at least the amounts it stated in <br />its application, or in such amount as may be required under the laws of the State of North <br />Carolina or its agencies, whichever amount is greater. <br />Section VIII. American Medical Response, Inc. recognizes that the primary <br />ambulance provider in Lee County is the Lee County Department of Emergency Medical <br />Services and agrees that it will operate its non-emergency and convalescent ambulance <br />service in a manner not inconsistent with the rules, regulations and protocols of the Lee <br />County Department of Emergency Medical Services and the directions of the Advances <br />Life Support Medical Director for Lee County. <br />Section IX. American Medical Response, Inc. shall keep and maintain all of the <br />records required of it by the State of North Carolina and by Lee County and will permit <br />representatives of Lee County to inspect its records, premises and equipment at any time <br />in order to assure compliance with the requirements of Lee County. <br />Section X. American Medical Response, Inc. shall be solely responsible for <br />billing and collecting accounts from its clients for its services. American Medical <br />Response, Inc. will seek no subsidies from Lee County nor reimbursement for <br />uncollectible accounts as a consequence of the granting of this franchise. Initially, <br />American Medical Response, Inc. will charge rates for its services no greater than as set <br />forth in its Application for Franchise. American Medical Response, Inc. may, from time to <br />time, increase its rates and charges for its services provided, however, that no increase <br />shall go into effect until American Medical Response, Inc. shall have given a 30 day <br />written notice of said increase and provided further than no more than two such increases <br />be made in any 12 month period. <br />Section XI. Lee County shall have the right to terminate this franchise in the <br />event of a material breach of this franchise by American Medical Response, Inc. and upon <br />the affirmative vote of a majority of the Board of Commissioners. American Medical <br />Response, Inc. shall have the right to terminate this franchise by giving Lee County at least <br />30 days notice of its intention. <br />Section XII. Application for renewal of this franchise shall be made pursuant to <br />Sections 4 and 5 of the "Ordinance Regulating Ambulance Services in Lee County" <br />heretofore referred to. <br />Section XIII. This franchise and the rights, privileges and authority hereby <br />granted shall take effect and be in force from and after final passage hereof, as provided by <br />law, provided that within 30 days after the date of the final passage of this ordinance <br />American Medical Response, Inc. shall file with the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners <br />5 <br />
