BOOK 16 PACs: 641) 0010 <br />The Board considered an offer to purchase county property. County Attorney K. <br />R. Hoyle told the Board Stephen and Edwina Harris have made an offer, in writing, to <br />purchase a .19 acre lot on South Plank Road, which the County currently owns, for <br />$500.00. Commissioner Groce moved to offer the property for sale under the upset bid <br />process, a copy of the resolution which is attached to these minutes and by this reference <br />made a part hereof. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered changes to the Economic Development Board Policy. <br />Commissioner Reives presented various changes to the By-Laws and Contract for <br />Economic Development. After some discussion Commissioner Moretz moved to approve <br />the changes as presented by Commissioner Reives. Commissioner Reives seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Joe McDonald, representing the Committee of 100 and Lee County <br />Economic Development Board, discussed with the Board concerns he had with the <br />proposal and answered questions of the Board. After further discussion Commissioner <br />Dossenbach made a substitute motion for Commissioners' Garner and Reives, members of <br />the Economic Development Board, to meet with that Board and bring a recommendation <br />back to the Board of Commissioners for consideration. Commissioner Cox seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote of the substitute motion, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner and Matthews <br />Nay: Groce, Moretz and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a four to three vote. <br />The Board considered a request from the Tramway Volunteer Fire Department to <br />purchase new equipment. Commissioner Cox asked the Board to approve a request from <br />this department to approve the purchase of a new equipment truck for their department <br />under a Lease Purchase Agreement. After some discussion Commissioner Matthews <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Croce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an appropriation to the Board of Education for the purpose <br />of purchasing new band uniforms. Mr. Robert Logan from the Lee County Board of <br />Education presented for the Board a sample of the proposed new band uniforms which <br />will cost between $400-450 per uniform. Bids will be received for the purchase of <br />10 <br />
