BOOK H PACE 633 y. n <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1996 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />J of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' <br />present were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Van R. Groce; <br />Bertha L. Matthews and J. Douglas Moretz. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was absent. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Doug Moretz asked for a moment of silent prayer in memory of Mr. <br />George Perkinson who passed away last week. <br />The Board considered approval of the draft of the minutes of the October 7, 1996 <br />meeting. Commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve the minutes as the official record <br />of said meeting. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews and Moretz <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. Commissioner Groce moved to <br />approve the agenda as printed. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows; <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews and Moretz <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a proclamation proclaiming November, 1996, as National <br />Hospice Month in Lee County. Vicki Mann, Coordinator of Volunteer Services with <br />Hospice of Lee County, Inc. was present and asked the Board to consider this <br />proclamation.
