Boox 16 Phu 671 <br />(1001 <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered changes to the Economic Development Board Policy. <br />Commissioner Reives discussed proposed changes to this policy and moved approval of <br />the following changes: <br />a) expand the Lee County Economic Development Corporation Board <br />of Directors to eleven (11) members, to expand the Lee County Economic Development <br />Corporation Executive Committee to five (5) members and that the President and/or <br />Executive Director report to local governing boards as requested by those boards. <br />b) the four (4) additional members added to the Lee County Economic <br />Development Corporation Board would be considered interim board members and their <br />terms would expire on June 30, 1997. Appointments made as follows: one (1) new <br />member from the Lee County Committee of 100, Inc., one (1) new member from the City <br />of Sanford and two (2) new members from Lee County. <br />C) the President of the Lee County Economic Development <br />Corporation would advise annually to the appointing authorities to the Lee County <br />Economic Development Board of Directors of the current racial and gender composition <br />of said board. <br />d) a general member may vote either in person or by one or more <br />agents authorized by a written proxy executed by the member or by his duly authorized <br />attorney in fact. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered placement of the W.P.A. painting currently being restored. <br />The Sanford Woman's Club is asking the Board's approval to place the restored painting <br />in the L.C. and Mary Heins Lobby at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Members of the <br />club have spoken with representatives of the Civic Center and they have agreed for the <br />painting to be placed their if approved by the Commissioners. Dr. Marvin Joyner, <br />President of Central Carolina Community College told the Board they would be willing to <br />place the painting at the Civic Center if approved by the Board of Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to place the restored W.P.A. painting at the Dennis A. <br />
