c;0 0 1 Book 16 pni 665 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1996 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners' present were Jimmie M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Van R. Groce; V Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz and Robert T. Reives Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. The Board considered approval of the draft of the minutes of the October 21, 1996 meeting. Commissioner Moretz moved approval of the minutes as the official record of said meeting. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered appointments to the Land Use Steering Committee. Planning Director Trevis Averett told the Board ten (10) individuals had responded to a newspaper article in reference to appointments to this Committee. Commissioner Matthews nominated Joe West; Commissioner Moretz nominated Charles Taylor and Wilson Weathers; Commissioner Groce nominated Charles "Chuck" Heiser and Commissioner Cox nominated Harold Guerard. After some discussion Commissioner Croce moved to appoint all of the above five (5) nominated individuals to the Land Use Steering Committee. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Groce, Matthews, Moretz and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously.
