0 <br />500K N Pn E 722 <br />The Board considered changes to the Veterans' Services Officer position. County <br />Manager William Cowan discussed with the Board a recent meeting he, Chairman Garner <br />and Vice-Chairman Cox had with representatives from various officials of the local <br />Veteran Service organizations concerning the replacement of the retiring Veterans' <br />Service worker on January 31, 1997. After some discussion Commissioner Reives <br />moved to increase the weekly hours from 16 to 20 and the Veterans' Service office to <br />become a division of the County Human Resources Department (Personnel Department). <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution consenting to amend the By-Laws of the Lee <br />County Economic Development Corporation and modifying the contract between Lee <br />County and the Lee County Economic Development Corporation. Commissioner Cox <br />moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO AMENDING THE BY-LAWS <br />OF THE LEE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION AND <br />MODIFYING THE CONTRACT BETWEEN LEE COUNTY AND <br />THE LEE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Lee County as follows: <br />1. That the Board of Commissioners grants permission for the Board of <br />Directors of the Lee County Economic Development Corporation to change the By-laws <br />of the Corporation as follows: <br />A) Delete Section 2 of Article III and insert in lieu thereof the following: <br />"Section 2 Number, Tenure, and Qualifications. <br />The voting members of the Board of Directors shall be eleven (11) in <br />number and appointed as follows: <br />a) Four (4) members appointed by the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners <br />b) Three (3) members appointed by the Board of Aldermen of the <br />City of Sanford <br />n6 <br />C) The President of Central Carolina Community College, Sanford, <br />
