0 009 <br />6OR 16 PACE 742 <br />Waste Management $ 29,700.00 <br />Pinehurst, North Carolina <br />After some discussion Commissioner Mansfield moved to approve the low bid of <br />$22,440.00 from Waste Quip. LM, Greenville, South Carolina. Commissioner Paschal <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a contract with Utilities Reduction Specialist to conduct an <br />audit to reduce telephone, electric and gas costs from the last twelve months billings. <br />Charges are paid only for services that experience savings. County Manager William <br />Cowan discussed this service with the Board and answered questions. Mr. James <br />McPherson from Carolina Power and Light Company was present and briefly went over <br />with the Board what CP&L has done to help the County reduce utility costs in recent <br />months. He asked the Board for another two weeks to complete his study on utility <br />savings to help the County. After some discussion Commissioner Reives moved to enter <br />into an agreement with Utility Reductions Specialist as presented. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion. Commissioner Moretz amended the motion to enter into <br />an agreement with Utility Reductions Specialist in two weeks (on February 4, 1997) after <br />CP&L has completed their study. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote of the amended motion, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an E-911 Addresser Coordinator position. County <br />Manager William Cowan discussed with the Board a revised job description for this <br />position and recommended this position be temporarily housed in the Information Services <br />Department under Mrs. Lesa Price. After some discussion Commissioner Moretz moved <br />to approve the E-911 position and add this classification and grade assignment to the <br />County Classification and Pay Plan; share the expense of this position, including related <br />office and operational expenses, with the City of Sanford using the E-911 Budget Formula <br />after July 1, 1997; and temporarily house the position in the Information Services <br />Department under Mrs. Lesa Price. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />6 <br />
