0 007 <br />Boos N PAu 740 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Lee <br />County, North Carolina, as follows: <br />1. The term of the cable franchise previously granted to Cencom <br />Partners, L. P. is hereby extended to July 1, 1997. <br />2. The franchise shall continue to be bound by all provisions and <br />requirements of the franchise. <br />After further discussion Commissioner Moretz moved to amend the motion for Mr. <br />Landon Barefoot from Cencom Partners, L. P. to appear before the Board and tell what <br />improvements they intend to make and extend the franchise to July 1, 1997. <br />Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, of the amended motion, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a Criminal Justice Partnership Program Discretionary Grant <br />Award. Community Corrections Director Randell Woodruff told the Board The North <br />Carolina Department of Correction has reviewed Lee-Harnett's application for <br />discretionary funding for FY 1996-97. The application has been approved in the amount <br />of $105,400 for the period January 1, 1997 - June 30, 1997. The grant has been awarded <br />for the purchase of property at 817 South Eighth Street in Lillington to accommodate the <br />Pretrial/Reporting Center and to cover cost of the move. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the Discretionary Grant Award in the amount of <br />$105,400. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered Tax Releases and Refunds for November and December, <br />1996. Tax Administrator Roger Kelley went over the report and answered questions of <br />the Board. After some discussion Commissioner Moretz moved to approve Tax Releases <br />and Refunds for November and December, 1996, as presented. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />4 <br />
