0 <br />BOOK 16 PACE 758 <br />® 3 <br />The Board considered a water purchase and maintenance agreement with the City <br />of Sanford. Public Works Director Kenny Cole told the Board the County currently has <br />approximately 820 water customers on the Tramway Water System. Of the four wells the <br />County operates, only two are currently in service. The cost to fix the two wells not <br />currently being used would be approximately $6,000410,000, with no guarantee the <br />problems would not return. Mr. Cole recommended the County close the two remaining <br />wells and enter into a water and maintenance agreement with the City of Sanford; approve <br />a water rate increase and authorize the reduction in force of two employees. After some <br />discussion Commissioner Cox moved to enter into a water purchase and maintenance <br />agreement with the City of Sanford as presented; approve a water rate increase (copy <br />attached) as presented and authorize the reduction in force of two employees. <br />Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a purchase order for MIS computer equipment. <br />Information Services Director Lesa Price asked the Board to consider a purchase order to <br />Intercomp Systems, Raleigh, North Carolina, in the amount of $10,820.00 to cover <br />computer equipment for the MIS Department. Bids were received from the following: <br />Intercomp Systems $10,820.00 <br />Raleigh, NC <br />Alphanomeric Systems $12,984.95 <br />Raleigh, NC <br />Entex Information Service $12,186.00 <br />Mason, Ohio <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the low bid from Intercomp Systems, Raleigh, <br />North Carolina, at a price of $10,820.00 for computer equipment for the MIS <br />Department. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an agreement between Lee County and Ameritech Library <br />Services.
