BotR 16 ~rsF 773 0 <br />Chairman Garner presented a resolution honoring Mrs. Mary Alice Crissman for <br />her forty plus years of service to Lee County as Veterans' Service Officer. <br />The Board considered bids for baseball and softball athletic equipment for Parks <br />and Recreation. Recreation Director Jennifer Sipe received bids from the following: <br />A. D. Starr <br />Cactus Sports <br />Carolina Sporting Goods <br />Clark Sporting Goods <br />Coleman Sporting Goods <br />DSG Sports <br />Tarheel Leagues <br />Marietta, Georgia <br />Durham, NC <br />Sanford, NC <br />Fayetteville, NC <br />Fayetteville, NC <br />Durham, NC <br />Sanford, NC <br />Mrs. Sipe asked the Board to approve the lowest bid for each item. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve low bids for each item from the following <br />vendors: <br />Cactus Sports <br />Durham, NC <br />Clark Sporting Goods <br />Fayetteville, NC <br />A. D. Starr <br />Marietta, Ga. <br />Coleman Sporting Goods <br />Fayetteville, NC <br />$2,492.50 <br />$2,244.65 <br />$5,813.04 <br />$5,525.38 <br />Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a proposal from the City of Sanford concerning a merger of <br />the Planning/Inspections Departments. City Manager Leonard Barefoot presented to the <br />Board a draft proposal and answered questions from the Board. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to table the matter until further study could be completed. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />0 el 5 <br />2 <br />
