Tfi411;AS <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17,1997- <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; <br />J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted: <br />Chairman Garner delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items to be discussed. County Manager <br />William Cowan asked the Board to delete item 111. A. "approval of the amount spent for <br />purchase of school site near Tramway" from the agenda per the Board of Education. <br />The Board considered approval of the consent agenda. Commissioner Reives <br />asked that item II. D. "bids for athletic equipment for Parks and Recreation" be pulled <br />from the consent agenda for further discussion. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve <br />the consent agenda, minus item II. D, which consisted of the following matters: <br />• minutes of the February 3, 1997, regular meeting <br />• budget amendment # 02/17/97/19 (copy attached to these minutes <br />and by this reference made a part hereof) <br />• grant applications for HAVEN in Lee County <br />• tax releases and refunds for January, 1997 (copy attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof) <br />• resolution honoring Mrs. Mary Alice Crissman, retired Lee County <br />Veterans' Service Officer <br />Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />0 X14 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />
