Commissioner Cox immediately moved that the <br />County forget about merging with the City of Sanford and to keep things as they currently <br />are. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Mansfield and Matthews <br />Nay: Garner, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been defeated by a four to three vote. <br />After further discussion and a recommendation from County Manager William Cowan to <br />try the merger of the City of Sanford and County of Lee Planning Departments for a one- <br />year period with an escape clause written into the agreement. Commissioner Reives <br />moved for the County of Lee and the City of Sanford to enter into an inter-local <br />agreement to merge the Planning Departments and for the Inspections Department of the <br />County of Lee to work separately out of the Federal Building. Commissioner Moretz <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Garner, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: Cox, Mansfield and Matthews <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a four to three vote. <br />The Board considered a change to the fee schedule for Environmental Health <br />Services. Health Director Phyllis Lowry told the Board the Lee County Board of Health <br />recently approved a change to the fee schedule for these services. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the following proposed fees: <br />• well site placement inspection $60.00 <br />• bacteriological water sample $20.00 <br />• organic water sample $45.00 <br />• inorganic water sample $30.00 <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />r <br />5 <br />
