MONDAY, MARCH 17, 1997 LEE. -(J''Jy, N-0- ,The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted: The Rev. Doug Currin, Pastor of Broadway United Methodist Church delivered the invocation. The Board considered additional agenda items to be discussed. Commissioner Reives asked the Board to discuss personnel matters involving Lee County staff in closed session. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the addition of this item to the agenda. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered approval of the consent agenda. Commissioner Moretz asked the following items be deleted from the consent agenda for further discussion- • resolution supporting the renovation and expansion of The Institute of Government (Knapp Building) • grant application for Hispanic Task Force in Lee County • authorized agent of the owner of the painting "The Kinfolk of Virginia Dare • community services block grant for Johnston-Lee Community Action Commissioner Cox moved approval of the remainder of the consent agenda which included the following items: 0 minutes of the February 11, 1997 meeting
