THIOMAS. <br />MONDAY, MARCH 17, 1997 LEE. -(J''Jy, N-0- <br />,The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; <br />J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted: <br />The Rev. Doug Currin, Pastor of Broadway United Methodist Church delivered <br />the invocation. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items to be discussed. Commissioner <br />Reives asked the Board to discuss personnel matters involving Lee County staff in closed <br />session. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the addition of this item to the agenda. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the consent agenda. Commissioner Moretz <br />asked the following items be deleted from the consent agenda for further discussion- <br />• resolution supporting the renovation and expansion of The <br />Institute of Government (Knapp Building) <br />• grant application for Hispanic Task Force in Lee County <br />• authorized agent of the owner of the painting "The Kinfolk of <br />Virginia Dare <br />• community services block grant for Johnston-Lee Community Action <br />Commissioner Cox moved approval of the remainder of the consent agenda which <br />included the following items: <br />0 minutes of the February 11, 1997 meeting <br />
