A&k <br />BOOK N pn,r 83 <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request to have the Lee County Ordinance Books updated <br />and codified. Clerk to the Board Gaynell Beal asked the Board to consider two bids from <br />the following vendors: <br />Municipal Code Corporation $8,685/20 bound copies <br />Tallahassee, Florida <br />American Legal Publishing Corp. $4,995/20 bound copies <br />Cincinnati, Ohio <br />After some discussion Commissioner Mansfield moved to award the bid to Municipal <br />Code Corporation as presented. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews and Paschal <br />Nay: Moretz and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to two vote. <br />The Board considered the method of election of County Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Moretz discussed with the Board a bill that Representative Bobby R. Hall <br />wanted to introduce concerning the method of election of Lee County Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved that all Lee County Commissioners be elected on staggered <br />terms, by districts (made up by the Board of Elections), in a nonpartisan election and <br />voted on by all Lee County residents. Chairman Garner seconded the motion. After <br />further discussion Commissioner Moretz amended his motion by deleting the nonpartisan <br />section from his motion. The motion failed for lack of a second. After further discussion <br />Commissioner Matthews moved the matter be tabled until more information could be <br />received. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />After still further discussion Commissioner Mansfield moved for the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners to go on record opposing the bill Representative Hall was planning on <br />introducing. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion. Commissioner Moretz made a <br />substitute motion to table the matter and Commissioner Garner seconded the motion. <br />Upon a vote of the substitute motion, the results were as follows: <br />06 <br />6 <br />
