SOUK 1fi PACE 826 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, APRIL 7, 1997 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />J of North Carolina, convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews, <br />J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Nathan E. Paschal delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items to be discussed. Commissioner <br />Matthews asked the Board to discuss appointing a committee to look into an Agribusiness <br />Center for Lee County. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the addition of this <br />item to the agenda. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the consent agenda. Commissioner Moretz <br />asked the following item be deleted from the consent agenda for further discussion: <br />• resolution requesting support for statewide legislation for a menu <br />of local options <br />Commissioner Paschal moved approval of the remainder of the consent agenda which <br />included the following items: <br />• minutes of the March 17, 1997 regular meeting <br />• minutes of the March 17, 1997 closed session <br />• budget amendment # 04/07/97/22 (copy attached and by this <br />reference made a part hereof) <br />• amendment to Lee County Medical Plan for Treatment <br />
