BOOK 16 PAC: 841 00 <br />individual plaintiffs was completed on April 8, 1997. <br />Lee County also paid $28,765 to compensate the other <br />six regular employees of the Emergency Medical Service on the <br />same basis that settlement was made with the plaintiffs. <br />This report is submitted pursuant to N.C. GS 143-318.11 <br />(a)(3) for entry in the minutes". <br />No action was taken on the matter. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to go into closed session to discuss matters relating to <br />the location or expansion of industries or other business in Lee County. Commissioner <br />Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was <br />in closed session. Following discussion in closed session, Commissioner Cox moved to go <br />out of closed session. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The meeting recessed until 7:00 p.m. Upon returning at 7:00 p.m., with all <br />members present, Chairman Garner opened the meeting for public comments concerning <br />the proposed Capital Improvements Program for FY 1997/98. No one spoke for or <br />against the proposed program. <br />Chairman Garner closed this portion of the public hearing. Commissioner Cox <br />moved to open public hearings with members of the Planning Board. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Planner Althea Thompson outlined for the Boards and general public the rezoning <br />petition by J. Clyde Garner to rezone 19.53 acres of land off Farmstead Drive from <br />Residential Agricultural District to Residential Mixed 35/30 District. <br />5 <br />
