0 a00K 16 PnE V <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, APRIL 21, 1997 <br />J The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield, Bertha L. Matthews, <br />J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Reverend Buck Frye, Minster of Carbonton Methodist Church delivered the <br />invocation. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items to be discussed. Commissioner <br />Reives asked the Board to consider a matter concerning the Board of Education and <br />Commissioner Paschal asked the Board to consider a resolution of thanks to the Airport <br />Authority. Commissioner Cox moved to approve the addition of these items to the <br />agenda. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the consent agenda. Commissioner Moretz <br />moved to approve the following consent agenda items: <br />• minutes of the April 7, 1997 regular meeting <br />• resolution requesting a stop light be placed at the intersection of <br />US 15-501 (North) and Deep River Road (copy attached and made <br />a part hereof) <br />• renewal agreement between Sanford Correctional Center and Lee <br />County Operational Services <br />• tax releases and refunds for March, 1997 (copy attached and made <br />a part hereof) <br />0 renewal contract with Piedmont HIV Health Care Consortium <br />
