5 <br />aoo 1~ 85A <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered funding options for the Lee County <br />Economic Development Corporation. Dr. Marvin Joyner, representing the <br />LCEDC, went over the current funding formula proposed with the <br />Committee of 100 contributing Capital Outlay only, County of Lee <br />contributing 67.86%, City of Sanford contributing 30.59% and the Town <br />of Broadway contributing 1.55%. After some discussion, Commissioner <br />Paschal moved to approve the funding formula as recommended by the <br />Lee County Economic Development Corporation. Commissioner Garner <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, and Paschal <br />Nay: Moretz and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a five to two <br />vote. <br />Ms. Susan Condlin from the Cooperative Extension Service <br />updated the Board on a new program called "Out For Lunch" which will <br />be sponsored by Social Services, the Food Stamp Program, Work First <br />Program, and NC State to work with food stamp recipients. Additional <br />personnel and all expenses for the program will be handled by NC State. <br />Commissioner Mansfield moved to approve the efforts of the Cooperative <br />Extension Service in this new program. Commissioner Cox seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and <br />Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered amending the policy to allow for the new <br />Animal Control Officer to take the County vehicle to her home, which is <br />in Harnett County, when she is on call. Health Director Phyllis Lowry <br />asked the Board to consider this request. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to allow the Animal Control Officer in <br />question to take the County vehicle out-of-county when she is on call <br />until the beginning of the new school year in 1997. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and <br />Reives <br />Nay: None <br />5 <br />
