Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and <br />Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously <br />and the Board was in closed session. Following discussion in closed <br />session, Commissioner Cox moved to go out of closed session. <br />Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and <br />Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted <br />unanimously. <br />The meeting recessed until 7:00 p.m. Upon returning at 7:00 <br />p.m., with all members present, Chairman Garner called the meeting <br />back to order. Commissioner Matthews moved to open the public <br />hearing for the proposed FY 1997-98 Budget. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and <br />Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted <br />unanimously. <br />Chairman Garner outlined for the general public rules for <br />individuals that had signed up to speak concerning the proposed <br />budget. The following individuals spoke concerning the FY 1997-98 <br />Budget: Ms. Jan Perkinson, Chairperson of the Lee County Board of <br />Education; Mr. David Simpson, Vice-Chairman of the Lee County <br />Board of Education; Ms. Alma Price-Taylor, 1803 Saddlewood Lane, <br />representing HAVEN in Lee County; Mr. Van Blanton, 1801 Crepe <br />?4 <br />9 <br />
