` ~ 006 <br />Book 16 PACE 96 <br />Hospital shall file with the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners its unconditional <br />acceptance of these franchises and has entered into a written agreement with Lee <br />County to provide emergency medical service for said County and to comply and <br />abide with all the terms and provisions and conditions of these franchises and that <br />contracts, and said acceptance to be in writing and executed in the manner as required <br />by Lee County. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle asked the Board to consider a suggested procedure to <br />amend the current provisions of the ordinance regulating ambulance service in Lee <br />County for Section V. Term of Franchise (5.1). Commissioner Reives moved to adopt <br />the following amendment to the Lee County Ambulance Ordinance: <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Lee County that <br />Section 5.1 of the Lee County Ambulance Ordinance be amended by deleting the <br />words and figures "sixty (60) days" and in lieu thereof inserting the words and figures <br />"six (6) months". <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />A second hearing to hear comments on this matter is scheduled for Monday, June 16, <br />1997, at 4:00 p.m. <br />The Board heard from Susan Little, Finance Officer with the Lee County <br />Board of Education, concerning the schools' financial status. Mrs. Little and <br />Superintendent Steve Wrenn answered questions of the Board. <br />Board of Elections Chairman George Whitaker gave the Board a presentation <br />for the acquisition of new voting machines for the Lee County Board of Elections. No <br />action was taken on the matter. <br />6 <br />
