oil 1 <br />sou;t 16 rrc~ X89 <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Reives <br />Nay: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />After still further discussion, Commissioner Matthews moved for a committee of at least <br />three Commissioners be appointed to come up with cuts of $113,000 to cover cuts in the <br />approved budget. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: Moretz <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />Chairman Garner appointed Commissioners Matthews, Moretz, and Reives to <br />work as a committee to study budget cuts with County Manager William Cowan. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to recess the meeting and go into the Lee County <br />Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />After discussion in the Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting, the Board <br />recessed the meeting until 7:00 p.m. at the old Lee County Courthouse. <br />Upon returning at 7:00 p.m. with all members present, except Commissioner <br />Paschal, the meeting resumed. <br />Chairman Garner opened the floor for comments from the public concerning <br />incentives for Lee Brick and Tile Company as advertised for this date and time. <br />Mr. Ron Holton and Mr. Don Perry from Lee Brick & Tile Company spoke in <br />favor of the incentive request. <br />Mr. David Tarpey of 1317 Brickyard Road does not want to see the tax rate go up <br />in Lee County. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to open joint public hearings with members of the <br />Planning Board. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />
