None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to go into closed session pursuant to N.C. GS <br />§143-318.11(a)(3) for the purpose of consulting with the County Attorney <br />concerning the handling of a claim. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board <br />was in closed session. Upon concluding business in closed session, Commissioner <br />Cox moved to go out of closed session. Commissioner Matthews seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the <br />meeting recessed until 7:00 p.m.. <br />Upon returning at 7:00 p.m., with all members present except Chairman <br />Garner, who was presenting a rezoning request, Vice-Chairman Cox called the <br />meeting to order. Commissioner Paschal moved to open the public hearings with <br />members of the Lee County Planning Board. Commissioner Matthews seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Vice-Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Planner Althea Thomas outlined for the Boards the first rezoning request by <br />F. Hubert Garner, Sr., to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Highway <br />Commercial District approximately .48 acres of land at 7300 Deep River Road. <br />Hubert Garner of 805 Lee's Chapel Road spoke in favor of the request. <br />Ms. Laura Young of 7500 Deep River Road spoke in opposition to the <br />request and had concerns about traffic problems. <br />Mr. Ron Satterfield, Planner with the City of Sanford, outlined the second <br />rezoning request by Cecil C.
