00~~ <br />n a: 0 <br />WHEREAS, the MIS Director has recommended that the proposal be <br />amended as set out in a memorandum dated June 5, 1997, a copy of which is attached <br />to this resolution and by this reference incorporated herein; and <br />WHEREAS, the agreement between the parties requires that any modification <br />be made in writing and be signed by authorized representatives of the parties; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners <br />for Lee County that the County Manager and Clerk are authorized and directed to <br />prepare, execute and deliver to American Geographic Data, Inc. an amendment to the <br />agreement between the parties incorporating the changes requested by the MIS <br />Director in her memorandum dated June 5, 1997. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered funding for computer equipment (Statewide <br />Automated Child Welfare Information System). Social Services Director Diane <br />Lamb asked the Board for approval to send confirmation to the State Office for <br />funding for new computer equipment that would put Lee County on line with all <br />counties in the state to help keep track of child abusers as well as other functions of <br />children's services. A one time offer from the State is being made to allow counties <br />to participate in a 75%/25% funding, with the state paying 75% and the county <br />paying 25%. Lee County's portion would be $26,125.06 which would be taken out <br />of the revenues coming to the county. All one hundred counties must participate in <br />order to get this grant. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve funding for <br />computer equipment (Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System) as <br />presented. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a voting delegate for the 1997 Annual Conference to <br />be held in Greensboro, North Carolina, in August.
