aoli iT ~tf~ TZ) 0 4 <br />Board of Education provide Lee County with the information as outlined in the <br />section entitled "Public Education" of NC GS §115C on a semi-annual basis. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a recommendation from the Lee County Planning <br />Board to amend the County's Road Naming Ordinance, to enable fire, rescue, and <br />law enforcement departments to respond more quickly and with more accuracy in <br />times of emergencies. Presently an E-911 Addressing Project is taking place to <br />enhance departmental abilities. This has also been adopted by the Planning Board to <br />regulate and control the naming, renaming and address assigning and sign placement <br />throughout the extraterritorial planning jurisdiction of the county. After some <br />discussion, Commission Mansfield moved to approve proposals to amend the Lee <br />County Road Naming Ordinance and schedule a public hearing for August 18, 1997. <br />Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an amendment for changes to the Enhanced 911 <br />Addressing Proposal. Lesa Price, Information Services Director, told the Board the <br />resolution amendment was between Lee County and American Geographic Data, Inc. <br />to better define the proposal and slightly change the approach to the project. The <br />amendment would ensure a more accurate addressing project and would not change <br />the cost of the project. Commissioner Mansfield moved approval of the following <br />resolution: <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee issued a request for proposals dated July 11, <br />1996 to cover a project involving county-wide enhanced 911 addressing and <br />American Geographic Data, Inc. submitted a proposal dated August 1, 1996 in <br />response thereto which was accepted by the County and which documents were <br />incorporated into the agreement between the parties dated September 27, 1996 as a <br />part of paragraph 1 entitled "Scope of Agreement"; and <br />4 <br />
