aooi 171>rs~ 0" 0 0 2 <br />• renewal grant application for the Elderly and Handicapped <br />Transportation Assistance Program for FY 1997-98 <br />• renewal Job Training Partnership Act Grant (JTPA) for Nursing <br />Assistant Training for FY 1997-98 <br />• public school building bond funds <br />• purchase order to EDS for Customer Care Plan fees <br />• resolution in memory of Mr. Robert Pomeranz (copy attached) <br />• resolution in honor of Ms. Sherry Owensby (copy attached) <br />Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />At this time Commissioner Matthews read and presented a resolution in <br />memory of Mr. Robert Pomeranz to his wife and family members and Chairman <br />Garner read and presented a resolution to Ms. Sherry Owensby in honor of her work <br />at HAVEN IN LEE COUNTY. <br />The Board considered destroying outdated Veterans' records. Personnel <br />Officer Patsy Rogers asked the Board to allow her to destroy a stack of outdated <br />Veterans' (clients) records, measuring 124" tall, that had no activity since 1975. <br />Commissioners expressed concerns about individuals being allowed to obtain the <br />records instead of having them destroyed. After some discussion, Commissioner Cox <br />moved to allow the records to be destroyed after thirty days notification by the media <br />for individuals (clients) to pick up records if they so desire. Commissioner Paschal <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a tabled rezoning request for John Daniel to rezone <br />from Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial District approximately <br />6 acres of land at 4215 Jefferson Davis Highway. Commissioner Rieves made a <br />motion to remove this item from the tabled motion. Commissioner Cox seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />2 <br />
