Assistant Planning Director Trevis Averett outlined for <br />the Board and general public the reason for the public hearing. <br />No one spoke for or against the amendment to the ordinance. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to adopt the following Ordinance: <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE <br />ESTABLISHING THE NAMES OF ROADS <br />IN LEE COUNTY AND A PROCEDURE FOR THE FUTURE <br />NAMING OR RENAMING OF ROADS IN LEE COUNTY <br />BE IT ORDAINED, by the Board of Commissioners of Lee County, North Carolina that <br />the Ordinance Establishing the Names of Roads in Lee County and a Procedure for the <br />Future Naming or Renaming of Roads in Lee County, and hereby is, amended as follows: <br />Section 1. That Section 1, New Roads be amended by adding the <br />following new subparagraphs. <br />"(e) New private road names shall be designated by adding <br />the suffix `Lane' after the road name. <br />(f) The names of new roads shall not duplicate existing road <br />names or be phonetically or deceptively similar." <br />Section 2. That Section 3, Renaming Roads, be amended by adding the <br />following new subparagraph. <br />"(e) When existing roads are renamed, the new name shall not <br />duplicate existing road names or be phonetically or deceptively <br />similar." <br />Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and <br />after the date of its adoption. <br />008 <br />Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />
