® 005 <br />BOOK 17 i)ni 30 <br />The Board considered changes in the procedures for recording maps. County <br />Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board Session Law 1997-309 transfers the responsibility <br />for reviewing maps to determine whether they meet recording requirements from the <br />Register of Deeds to a review officer, which will be effective October 1, 1997. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Matthews moved to appoint Tax Office employee Jon <br />Moore as the review officer. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Senior Services Advisory Board. <br />Commissioner Mansfield nominated Tex Kunselman to serve the unexpired term of the <br />late Elbert Price. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered conversion of the old tennis courts at Dalrymple Park into a <br />basketball court. Commissioner Reives moved to authorize the Recreation Department to <br />purchase goals in an amount up to $2,000, from the General Fund, and move forward with <br />the project. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered donating the balance of land located between the Lee <br />County Arts Center and Horner Blvd. to the Lee County Arts Council. Commissioner <br />Moretz moved that the land, not currently owned by the Arts Council at the above site, be <br />donated to them. Commissioner Garner seconded the motion. After further discussion <br />Commissioner Moretz withdrew his motion. <br />The Board considered speed limits on Pilson Road and St. Andrews Church Road. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved the Board submit a letter to the Department of <br />Transportation for a speed study for Pilson Road and St. Andrews Church Road, between <br />5 <br />
