Jr.°.. <br />E00( 17 i)t"Aft 61 0.19 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 1997 <br />#####k#######+##+#####i#4#+#k###kit##+#iik+k###+ik4#i##########4k####*## <br />The special called meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 pm in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; <br />J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to go into closed session to 1) consult with and <br />instruct the County Attorney concerning the handling of the judicial action brought by the <br />Lee County Board of Education against the Lee County Board of Commissioners, and 2) <br />discuss matters relating to the expansion of an industry in the area served by the Board of <br />Commissioners. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was <br />in closed session. After discussion in closed session, Commissioner Moretz moved to go <br />out of closed session. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to conduct a public hearing on September 22, 1997 <br />at 7:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as can be reached on the agenda, on the proposal to offer <br />incentives for the expansion of Frontier Spinning Mills on US 421 North of Sanford, in an <br />
