BOOK 17 NaE 002 <br />65 <br />• proclamation to proclaim September 27, 1997 as Hunting and Fishing Day <br />• use of Lee County facilities for First Night Sanford '98 <br />• authorization to advertise for bids for Tax Appraisal hardware and <br />software <br />• agreement between Lee County and ALLTEL Carolina, Inc. <br />Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a reduction in fees and charges for Parks and Recreation. <br />Recreation Director Jennifer Sipe told the Board the Parks and Recreation Commission, at <br />their August meeting, voted to reduce fees for non-profit/church/school groups. The <br />reduction amounted to approximately 20% of the current fee. Commissioner Moretz <br />moved to approve the reduction of fees and charges for Parks and Recreation as <br />presented. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Paschal <br />Nay: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />The Board considered recommendations for rezoning petitions from the Planning <br />Board. Assistant Planning Director Trevis Averett told the Board the Planning Board <br />recommended approval of the petition by Cecil Cameron to rezone from Residential <br />Agricultural District to Residential Agricultural 50/40 District approximately 5.26 acres at <br />the intersection of Hickory House Road and Bruce Coggins Road. After much discussion, <br />Commissioner Cox moved to table the matter, Commissioner Paschal seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Averett told the Board the Planning Board recommended denial of the petition <br />by Jack Maxwell to rezone from Residential Agricultural District to Residential <br />Agricultural 50/40 Conditional Use District with Class A manufactured homes being the <br />minimum housing type on Cedar Lane Road.
