Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, <br />After further discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to table the matter, offer this <br />agreement to all veterinarians in Lee County, and if no one else is interested, approve <br />agreement with Dr. Myres as presented. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and Ms. Lowry <br />was instructed to give the Board a written report of who was notified and responses <br />received. <br />County Manager William Cowan gave the Board a report on the business personal <br />property audits currently being conducted. Mr. Cowan referred to a report from Tax <br />Administrator Roger Kelley that said thirty-nine accounts have been billed at a cost of <br />$106,032.04 and $65,676.40 has been collected from eleven accounts. Mr. Cowan asked <br />the Board to consider a precedence as how to handle these penalties. No action was taken <br />on the matter. <br />The Board discussed a proposed retreat with a tentative date of November 21 and <br />22, 1997 in Raleigh. Commissioner Moretz moved for the Board not to hold a retreat. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion. After <br />some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to ask Murray Gould to attend the next <br />meeting on October 20, 1997 and update the Board on the project.
