Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, After further discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to table the matter, offer this agreement to all veterinarians in Lee County, and if no one else is interested, approve agreement with Dr. Myres as presented. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and Ms. Lowry was instructed to give the Board a written report of who was notified and responses received. County Manager William Cowan gave the Board a report on the business personal property audits currently being conducted. Mr. Cowan referred to a report from Tax Administrator Roger Kelley that said thirty-nine accounts have been billed at a cost of $106,032.04 and $65,676.40 has been collected from eleven accounts. Mr. Cowan asked the Board to consider a precedence as how to handle these penalties. No action was taken on the matter. The Board discussed a proposed retreat with a tentative date of November 21 and 22, 1997 in Raleigh. Commissioner Moretz moved for the Board not to hold a retreat. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion. After further discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to table the matter until the next meeting on October 20, 1997.
