In the event County notifies Dr. to <br />obtain his/her own legal representation then County shall pay all <br />expenses and fees connected with said representation. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Mansfield, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: Garner, Matthews and Moretz <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a four to three vote. <br />The Board considered a proposal for professional services for renovations to the <br />Probation Office. County Manager William Cowan discussed with the Board a $149,331 grant <br />from the North Carolina Department of Corrections for the Criminal Justice Program earmarked <br />for renovations to the county owned building located at 402 West Makepeace Street that houses <br />the Lee County Resource and Reporting Center. He told the Board the work involved re- <br />roofing the building, addition of office space, re-paving the parking lot, and various renovations <br />to the existing building such as handicapped accessible rest rooms and a second exit. He further <br />told the Board Mullins-Sherman Architects had submitted a proposal in the amount of $9,250 <br />for this project. Commissioner Cox moved approval of the proposal for professional services <br />with Mullins-Sherman Architects in the amount of $9,250 for architectural/engineering services <br />for renovations and additions to the existing Probation Office. Commissioner Mansfield <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager William Cowan discussed with the Board the following items: <br />(1) upcoming Work First Transportation Forum <br />(2) a letter he received from Charter Communications stating they will be <br />selling the cable system that currently serves Lee County <br />
