0 BOOK 17 'ra;E 143 008 <br />WHEREAS, the tournament championship crowns a successful season in which <br />the team participated in thirteen matches and the members won twenty-five rounds of <br />medal play and lost only four rounds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners desires to recognize the achievements <br />of the team and their coach; NOW THEREFORE <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee as <br />follows: <br />Section 1. That it congratulates Coach Herndon and the members of <br />the Women's Golf Team at Lee County Senior High School for their successful season <br />and for being the State Champions of Women's Golf for 1997 in the North Carolina High <br />School Athletics Association. <br />Section 2. That suitable recognition of the team's achievements be <br />posted on the highways leading into Lee County as expeditiously as possible. <br />Section 3. That this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this <br />meeting and a duly authenticated copy be presented to Coach Herndon and the members <br />of the Women's Golf Team at Lee County Senior High School by the Chairman with <br />suitable ceremony. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a letter sent to Commissioner Reives from the Health <br />Department concerning air quality issues surrounding Dreamland Mobile Home Park and <br />the intersection of Carbonton and Cool Springs Roads. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Reives moved that a request be made to the City of Sanford concerning <br />what course of action the City has taken to correct this problem and what course of action <br />may be taken in the future if the odor problems persist. Commissioner Matthews <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />8 <br />
