Commissioner Reives asked the Board to consider criteria on electrical wiring, heating furnace, and exterior appearance of older mobile homes. Commissioner Reives moved to instruct the Planning Department to conduct research on any possible ways of certifying pre-1976 mobile homes for code compliance with the North Carolina Building Code and contact The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to ascertain if there is any way that an inspection could be done to certify the safety of these homes. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Gamer, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Paschal moved to go into the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was in the Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. After completing business in the Water District, Commissioner Moretz moved to adjourn the meeting.
