aoo< 17 Pt,SE 145 <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives moved that Tax Administrator Roger Kelley present to the <br />Board recommendations on how to calculate supplies and inventory on future audits to be <br />performed by Tax Management Associates, Inc. Commissioner Moretz seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Gamer, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board presented a resolution honoring the Women's Golf Team from Lee <br />County Senior High School. Chairman Gamer read the resolution aloud and <br />Commissioner Reives presented the framed resolution to coach Mack Hemdon and team <br />members. <br />The Board considered appointments to the WorkFirst Committee for Social <br />Services. After some discussion it was decided to leave the Committee as it currently is. <br />The Board considered a resolution in honor of Richard (Dick) Branch. Chairman <br />Garner read the following resolution and Commissioner Cox moved approval: <br />WHEREAS, Richard (Dick) Branch was a Kinston native and graduated from <br />Elizabeth City State University in 1957, and was the Pirate's leading rusher each season; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Richard (Dick) Branch went from ECSU to the U.S. Army in 1958 <br />and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and while in Okinawa in 1962 made an <br />Army all-star team; and <br />WHEREAS, he started teaching in Lee County in 1967 as a fifth-grade teacher at <br />Jonesboro Elementary School and later taught math, science and P.E. and was junior <br />varsity coach and scout for head coach Paul Gay at Sanford Central High School; and <br />WHEREAS, Richard (Dick) Branch retired from West Lee Junior High in 1992 <br />after a 25-year teaching career and numerous years of working with kids in NYSP <br />(National Youth Sports Program). <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners desires to recognize <br />Richard (Dick) Branch as follows: <br />3 <br />
