BOOK 17 Nr,ci 141 n 3 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA #########rt#########rt########k##k#k#f4f#f#4##rt#rtrt##########4#4#########rt# NOVEMBER 17, 1997 ##k###kk#######k4##k####kf#4#4f#f#f#rt#rt#rt##########k4#####4####f##rtrtf### The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 P.M. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest It/ Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. Rev. Deloris Williams delivered the invocation. The Board considered additional agenda items. Chairman Garner asked the Board to consider a resolution honoring Richard (Dick) Branch. Commissioner Cox moved to approve the added agenda item. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which included the following items: • Minutes of the November 3, 1997 regular meeting • Minutes of the May 14, 1997 closed session • Minutes of the May 19, 1997 closed session • Tax releases and refunds for October, 1997 (copies attached) • Donation of computer equipment to the Enrichment Center valued at $400.00 • Transfer of 1986 Ford passenger bus to Swain County Transit System • Tax Office and E-911 addressing interface with Land Records • Permit for use of pyrotechnics for First Night '98 Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: 1
