House Bill 897 has been ratified to allow county commissioners to add five additional members, if they so desire, to the Nursing/Rest Home Advisory Committee. Commissioner Mansfield asked that the matter be tabled until the next meeting on January 5, 1998 and each Commissioner nominate one individual to serve on this Committee. The Board considered a joint meeting with the Central Carolina Community College Board of Trustees for January 5, 1998. Commissioner Garner moved to go into the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was in the Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Upon completing business in the Water and Sewer District, Commissioner Mansfield moved to adjourn the meeting. Chairperson Matthews called the meeting to order and invited members of the Planning Board to join the Commissioners for public hearings advertised for this date and time. Community Development Director Reggie Scales outlined the reasons for holding a public hearing concerning amendments to the zoning map to rezone from City of Sanford zoning to Lee County zoning that portion of the City of Sanford's extra-territorial planning jurisdiction (ETJ) that has been reclaimed by Lee County.
