House Bill 897 has been ratified to allow county commissioners to add five <br />additional members, if they so desire, to the Nursing/Rest Home Advisory Committee. <br />Commissioner Mansfield asked that the matter be tabled until the next meeting on January <br />5, 1998 and each Commissioner nominate one individual to serve on this Committee. <br />The Board considered a joint meeting with the Central Carolina Community <br />College Board of Trustees for January 5, 1998. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to go into the Lee County Water and Sewer District <br />No. 1 meeting. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board <br />was in the Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Upon completing business in the <br />Water and Sewer District, Commissioner Mansfield moved to adjourn the meeting. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to adjourn the meeting until 7:00 p.m. <br />Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously <br />Upon returning at 7:00 p.m. in Courtroom # 4 of the old Lee County Courthouse, <br />with all members present except Commissioners Paschal and Reives, the meeting resumed. <br />Chairperson Matthews called the meeting to order and invited members of the Planning <br />Board to join the Commissioners for public hearings advertised for this date and time. <br />Community Development Director Reggie Scales outlined the reasons for holding <br />a public hearing concerning amendments to the zoning map to rezone from City of <br />Sanford zoning to Lee County zoning that portion of the City of Sanford's extra-territorial <br />planning jurisdiction (ETJ) that has been reclaimed by Lee County.
