Planner Ron <br />Satterfield asked the Board to consider a preliminary subdivision plat for Frank and Evelyn <br />Kelly at 8804 Hancock Road. Commissioner Garner moved approval of the above listed <br />preliminary subdivision plat. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a schedule to hold a public hearing regarding amendments <br />to Lee County's Telecommunication Tower Ordinance. Assistant Planning Director <br />Trevis Averett asked the Board to consider a date for this public hearing. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Garner moved to hold a public hearing on the above matter at <br />7:00 p.m., January 5, 1998 at the Lee County Government Center. Commissioner Moretz <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a North Carolina Statewide Emergency Management <br />Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement. Emergency Management Director Warren Lee <br />told the Board the North Carolina Statewide Emergency Management Mutual Aid and <br />Assistance Agreement, which was jointly developed by the North Carolina Association of <br />County Commissioners and the League of Municipalities bad been revised. This <br />Agreement was recommended by the Governor's Task Force on Emergency Preparedness <br />in anticipation of disasters such as Hurricane Fran which hit North Carolina in 1996. He <br />also asked that municipalities coordinate all requests for assistance with him to eliminate <br />any confusion or duplication of efforts. Commissioner Garner moved to approve the <br />North Carolina Statewide Emergency Management Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement <br />and authorize the County Manager to request that all municipalities coordinate requests <br />for assistance through the Emergency Management Office.
