After some discussion, Commissioner Cox <br />made a substitute motion to hold the meeting on the third Monday of each month at 3:00 <br />p.m. instead of 4:00 p.m. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote of <br />the substitute motion, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Gamer, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz and Paschal <br />Nay: Reives <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. <br />The Board considered bonds for certain Lee County employees. County Attorney <br />K. R. Hoyle told the Board each year the Board of Commissioners is required by General <br />Statute to examine bonds for the following: <br />• Sheriff <br />• Register of Deeds <br />• Every other officer of the County who is required by law to give a bond <br />for the faithful performance of the duties of his/her office, which in Lee <br />County's case are: <br />• Tax Administrator <br />• Finance Officer <br />• Any employee who handles $100.00 or more at anyone time <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to approve bonds as recommended by the County Attorney. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Gamer, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. County Manager William Cowan <br />asked the Board to consider a grant application for Youth Services in the amount of <br />$77,840 for renovations/improvements to the Lee County Youth Shelter. Commissioner <br />Garner moved to add the above item to the consent agenda. Commissioner Paschal <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairperson Matthews gave notice that at the next regular meeting of the Board of <br />3 <br />
