0 aoo; 1.7 i>t,C't 158 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />***+#s**ssskk*kkt**#****#********t#*#*****#k**kt+***+#*k*+++t**+##*#**** <br />DECEMBER 1, 1997 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert <br />Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal <br />and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner Ervin Mansfield delivered the invocation. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle told the Board the first order of business was the <br />election of a Chairman for a one-year term. Ballots were passed out and tabulated with <br />the following votes recorded: <br />VOTED FOR <br />Cox <br />Garner <br />Garner <br />Garner <br />Mansfield <br />Garner <br />Matthews <br />Matthews <br />Moretz <br />Matthews <br />Paschal <br />Matthews <br />Reives <br />Matthews <br />Mr. Hoyle announced that Commissioner Garner had received three votes and <br />Commissioner Matthews had received four votes, and therefore Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews had been selected Chairperson for the coming year by a four to three vote. <br />Commissioner Matthews expressed her appreciation to the Board for their <br />support. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle called for the election of a Vice Chairman for a one- <br />year term. Ballots were passed out and tabulated with the following votes recorded: <br />001 <br />I <br />
