Assistant Planning Director Trevis Averett gave the Board a report on concerns pertaining to pre-1976 manufactured homes. After some discussion Mr. Averett was instructed to bring additional information back to the Board for consideration. No action was taken on the matter. The Board considered a program integrity allocation of $25,000 to the Lee County Department of Social Services. Social Services Director Diane Lamb asked the Board to approve the authorization for $25,000 from the State to be used as the county match for fraud positions. She also asked that, the difference of $12,233 be used to purchase a $2,500 PC for the Fraud Department, and the balance of money be placed in savings to be used to buy equipment in July, 1998. Commissioner Cox moved to approve the above request. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered a contract for professional services between Lee County and Harbor Clinic, Inc. Adult Services Director Randell Woodruff asked the Board to consider a contract for substance abuse services with Harbor Clinic, Inc. of Sanford. This is a court ordered program and will be provided at the Lee County Resource and Reporting Center. Funding for the program will be from discretionary funds provided by the N.C. Criminal Justice Partnership Program. The contract will run from January 6, 1998 to June 30, 1998 at an approximate cost of $17,694. The rate will be $52.35 per hour, thirteen hours each week, and will be paid monthly. After sonic discussion, Commissioner Cox moved to approve a contract for professional services between Lee County and Harbor Clinic, Inc. The Board considered additional office space requested by District Attorney Tom Lock. County Manager William Cowan told the Board District Attorney Tom Lock was requesting approval to use Room 3031 (conference room) in the new Lee County Courthouse for a new support staff position recently allocated to the Eleventh Prosecutorial District.
