Upon returning from the recess, <br />with all members present, the meeting resumed. <br />Assistant Planning Director Trevis Averett gave the Board a report on <br />concerns pertaining to pre-1976 manufactured homes. After some discussion <br />Mr. Averett was instructed to bring additional information back to the Board for <br />consideration. No action was taken on the matter. <br />The Board considered a program integrity allocation of $25,000 to the Lee <br />County Department of Social Services. Social Services Director Diane Lamb asked <br />the Board to approve the authorization for $25,000 from the State to be used as <br />the county match for fraud positions. She also asked that, the difference of <br />$12,233 be used to purchase a $2,500 PC for the Fraud Department, and the <br />balance of money be placed in savings to be used to buy equipment in July, 1998. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to approve the above request. Commissioner Moretz <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a contract for professional services between Lee <br />County and Harbor Clinic, Inc. Adult Services Director Randell Woodruff asked <br />the Board to consider a contract for substance abuse services with Harbor Clinic, <br />Inc. of Sanford. This is a court ordered program and will be provided at the Lee <br />County Resource and Reporting Center. Funding for the program will be from <br />discretionary funds provided by the N.C. Criminal Justice Partnership Program. <br />The contract will run from January 6, 1998 to June 30, 1998 at an approximate <br />cost of $17,694. The rate will be $52.35 per hour, thirteen hours each week, and <br />will be paid monthly. After sonic discussion, Commissioner Cox moved to approve <br />a contract for professional services between Lee County and Harbor Clinic, Inc. <br />Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered additional office space requested by District Attorney <br />Tom Lock. County Manager William Cowan told the Board District Attorney Tom <br />Lock was requesting approval to use Room 3031 (conference room) in the new Lee <br />County Courthouse for a new support staff position recently allocated to the <br />Eleventh Prosecutorial District.
