gong 1'7 "Xi <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has learned that the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation has plans to relocate the State Highway Patrol Station in <br />Lee County to a site on Bragg Street, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners is informed that the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation plans to renovate the facility presently used by the State <br />Highway Patrol and Department of Motor Vehicle personnel for Department of Motor <br />Vehicle personnel use only, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners is of the opinion that the present <br />location of the Department of Motor Vehicle facility is difficult to reach and the people of <br />Lee County would be better served if both agencies could be relocated in a joint facility; <br />• NOW THEREFORE <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee that it <br />respectfully requests that the North Carolina Department of Transportation delay for 90 <br />days any action to relocate the State Highway Patrol Station in Lee County to allow the <br />Board of Commissioners the opportunity to ascertain if a new site suitable to the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation is available which would permit the relocation of <br />both the Department of Motor Vehicle office and the State Highway Patrol Station. <br />is <br />0 <br />
