0,9 7 <br />W 17 Pr„F 24' <br />NORTH CAROLINA STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />REQUEST FOR ADDITION TO STATE MAINTAINED <br />SECONDARY ROAD SYSTEM <br />WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners <br />of the County of Lee requesting that Wild Forest Road off Valley Road be added to the <br />Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that Wild <br />Forest Road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets <br />minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of Highways of the <br />Department of Transportation for the addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />the County of Lee that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to review the <br />above described road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets established <br />standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered delinquent 1987 tax and water bills per N.C. GS 105- <br />373(g). Tax Administrator Roger Kelley asked the Board to approve writing off <br />delinquent tax bills for 1987 in the amount of $42,948.33 and water bills for 1987 in the <br />amount of $2,274.80, for a grand total of $45,223.13. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve writing off delinquent 1987 tax bills and water <br />bills in the amount of $45,223.13. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution authorizing the advertisement of an offer to <br />purchase a vacant lot on Waddell Street. Tax Administrator Roger Kelley told the <br />Board he had received an offer of $ 1,200 to purchase a vacant lot on Waddell Street <br />that was acquired from the Sheriff of Lee County. Commissioner Garner moved <br />approval of a resolution to authorize the advertisement of an offer to purchase a vacant <br />lot on Waddell Street, Sanford, North Carolina, a copy of which is attached to these <br />7 <br />
